This is the story about a boy and a girl. Both very young but still somehow old enough to have gown through a lot of growing pains. What's that you ask? Is this another love story? Well, that is a fair question, I suppose.
This boy and this girl are in love with each other, yes. Oh, and what an adorable story it was on how they became a couple. They have already talked about marriage and kids and they make each other very happy.
However, my dear, this is no love story that I am telling you. No, I'm afraid this story is sad and frightful.
In early August I started going to a Messianic Jewish congregation in Williamstown, NJ. It has honestly changed my life.
Rabbi Emanuel Tarahocker, his wife, Claudia started this congregation six years ago and with the help of their three kids, Anthony, Ariana, and Adoniyah, they have an amazing worship team, beautiful services, and messages that will always leave you with deeper understand of things.
You all know, I'm sure, that I have, since I was a little kid, suffered from extremely low self-esteem. I was never proud of myself, I thought I was ugly and fat, never good enough for anyone, but I would mask it all with a lot of energy and jokes.
There was once a man named Dan who appeared to have it all.
Amazing jobs, good grades, friends, looks, God, everything. He was so easy to talk to and made friends with everyone. Everyone loved Dan.
No one knew him. If they did, they would know that he is utterly shattered.
"You are worthless!" Hissed the devil in my ear. I was paralyzed. I couldn't move. I clutched the sheets underneath of me to try to grasp at some kind of reality. I stared into the darkness around me. Was this sleep paralysis that I have heard so much about? I'm awake but can't move and I'm also terrified. I keep hearing this snake whispering in my ear and I am forced to listen.
"You are nothing, little girl!" I swore I heard a laugh bounce off the walls in my bedroom. "You are nothing and never will amount to anything." I closed my eyes and tears started to break the dam.
A little curiosity never killed anyone, right? I thought to myself as I watched him from across the room. They say curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back. I guess that just means I need to be satisfied. I smirked as that thought crossed my mind and I ducked my head so if he looked over, he wouldn't see me blushing like an idiot. My own mind would get me into so much trouble one of these days, I was kind of looking forward to it. I just want him so bad!
"What do I have to live for?" You scream as you stand on that ledge.
Is this what you thought your friends meant when they told you get out from under that rock and live your life on the edge?
I know you think this is your only option and that this is the end for you.
You keep thinking that you are completely alone and you insist no one knows what you are going through.
When I was coming out of my space shuttle, the alien outside spoke some language I have never heard before. Now, after begging for it not to kill me, it spoke something that sounded Russian. "Wh-what?" I hated that my voice was shaking.
"I said I am not going to hurt you." It was at that moment that I realized this alien was a woman. Her voice was high pitch and sounded like it had an echo. It sounded almost...angelic. My eyes quickly scanned her body. Defiantly a female. She had long black hair that reached the small of her back, her eyes were golden, there were two small antennas on her forehead and I wondered that they were for. She was about a foot shorter than me which would make her 5'2. Her structure was similar to a woman's figure on Earth. The expression on her face was odd. She looked curious and determined rather than scared. However, I could have sworn she sounded scared when she was speaking before she saw me.
