In a land, hidden in the mist far from your own, lived a small fallen angel. She wasn't evil, she wasn't proud, she didn't get angry a lot. No, she was fallen because of a broken heart and broken wings.
She hid herself away from others in the dark land. She wandered around and in her hands she held her shattered heart. One day the fallen little angel was sitting on a rock in the lake. She loved the feel of the cool October water on her bare feet and she loved looking into the dark ripples that danced around her ankles. However, that day she saw something strange in the water. A reflection. Dark blue bloodshot eyes stared into her own. Large red lips formed a frown. Freckles dotted across the face. The reflection frightened the angel until she realized it was her own. She had forgotten what she looked liked. She looked older then she remembered. She stared at the reflection for a long time and the longer the time went by the longer she started to remembered why she hated mirrors. The angel started to cry. She tried to fly away from it by she fell face down into the lake. She quickly got up and looked into her hands to be sure she didn't lose any of the pieces. When she looked up that is when she saw it. If you met my family you would probably say we were a little uptight, maybe strange, and tough. And you know what? You're right.
My name is Jenna Gonzales. I am 19 and I live with my father, Paul, my mother, Trisha, my 16 year old sister, Megan and my baby brother, Bobby. We live in a 4 story home in the woods about five miles from any kind of civilization in Utah. W have lived here for three two years now. We moved around a lot. We have a lake in our back yard and get access to anything we want. We have what we call the scanner. It allows us to see any police activity going on within 300 miles near us, it allows us to hook up to cameras on the street lights in the two nearby towns and we can see everything going on around our property. We like to take things into our own hands when it comes to justice. Everyday is about the same here. Unless we run into trouble. So here is how my days usually go: Wake up at 5:30 am, check the scanner for anything out of the ordinary, shower, get dressed, make breakfast, talk to my mother, father and sister at the breakfast table, check the scanner, get in my car and head to the community college. I am studying music. I then go to my favorite coffee shop for lunch, check on Megan at her school, go shopping, go home, check the scanner, help my mom cook dinner, help my mom clean the house, check the scanner, help Megan with her homework, take care of feeding Bobby, eat dinner with the family, check the scanner, talk to friends, watch TV, go online, check the scanner and go to bed. But things change every now and then. Like The beginning of this week. Things changed a lot. |
